Terrie Spieker is a dedicated educator who strives to create a classroom that is friendly, safe, and fair for students to learn and share their knowledge with one another. Through her own education and work experience, Terrie Spieker has continually advanced her goal of creating the best possible environment for learning to take place. Terrie Spieker graduated magna cum laude with a 3.95 GPA and three consecutive appearances on the President's Honor Roll from the Metropolitan State College of Denver. Terrie Spieker received her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Education and Special Education after finishing her studies. Realizing that her ability to teach and serve as a positive role model can only be improved by continually learning herself, Terrie Spieker has completed work on her Master’s degree in Language and Literacy with an emphasis on Education and Human Development from the University of Colorado Denver.
Terrie Spieker's professional work experience has also provided her with valuable tools to utilize as an educator. Exceeding the expectations of her role as a Sales Representative with Qwest Communications, Terrie Spieker assisted the company internally with administrative responsibilities such as processing applications and arranging interviews. Terrie Spieker's 14-year tenure with Qwest Communications created opportunities to develop and constantly improve upon the ability to maintain positive relationships with people, as well as effectively problem solve when necessary.
Building upon her aforementioned experiences in the business world, Terrie Spieker has developed a belief system for how to approach the classroom. While working as a teacher for seven years in Littleton Public Schools in Littleton, Colorado, Terrie Spieker placed great importance on classroom management skills in order to facilitate her students’ continuous learning and academic achievement. Her model of instruction places a great deal of emphasis on motivational theory, so her students may realize an inherent sense of self-fulfillment as they absorb new information. This approach allows Terrie Spieker to draw out an intrinsic sense motivation from each of her students, reserving extrinsic motivators only for necessary occasions. Overall, Terrie Spieker works hard to provide her students with an authentic and supportive learning experience.
